The safety and comfort of our horses and visitors is very important to us. Please read and follow these rules so that you can help our stable continue to be a safe & fun environment for everyone. Your observance of these rules is greatly appreciated.
Stable Rules & Policies
Please clean up your horses manure in arenas and driveways.
If you open it close it, it you unlock it lock it.
Do not climb on fences, hay or gates.
Leave your dogs at home and please watch your children.
Please call 24 hours prior to your lesson if you can’t make it, no call and you will be charged.
Be ready to ride by the time your lesson starts. You will need to show up ahead of time to prepare for your lesson, Other riders lessons will not be changed. So if you are late, you will get a shorter lesson, or miss it altogether.
If you drop off your child for a lesson please pick them up immediately after lesson is over unless prior arrangements have been made.
Proper foot wear must be worn (i.e.: a boot with a heel).
ASTM/SEI certified helmets MUST be worn by everyone under the age of 18 and it is suggested for all riders. All riders must wear ASTM/SEI certified helmets while jumping.
The barn is not your room. Clean up your mess.
Never run or yell around horses or barn.
Your safety is more important then the horse’s safety. Never put yourself at risk, call for help if you need it.
Physical or verbal abuse of any animal at West Wind Stables will result in immediate and permanent expulsion.
Borrowing equipment without permission is not OK.
You are expected to clean tack if it is dirty after you use it.
If you use stable's equipment, please handle it with care.
Using proper leg protection on the horse is required while jumping or during other strenuous work.
Never put a horse away without making sure that he/she is properly cooled out.
Never leave a hot horse standing tied. After the horse is worked. They must be attended to immediately.
Please do not leave halter on any horse, if you notice one on a horse please let stable management know.
Never leave horse unattended in wash stall or cross ties.
You must obtain permission from stable owner before bring in an outside trainer.
West Wind is not responsible for the loss or damage to any equipment.
Never handle or pet a horse on the property that you don't know.
If you notice a horse is colicky, agitated, depressed, lame, sick, or anything else out of the ordinary please notify stable management right away. It is everyone’s responsibility to report a sick or injured horse. Also, please mention anything that you feel is out of the ordinary in regards to any horse’s care as well, such as an empty water bucket, an unlatched gate or damaged fence.
If you need help with anything please feel free to ask. It is our job to see that you enjoy your visit to our stables.
Keep profanity to absolute minimum.
The message board is a source of information applicable to all stable visitors. Be sure to check these messages whenever you visit the barn.
If you plan on moving your horse off premises you must give a 30 day written notice to stable management.
